By drawing attention to publisher descriptions you have raised my font appreciation level from lover to junkie. You mean the windows thing? Sorry I don't have access to a PC, but in the future I will upload TTFs as well, as long as they're OpenType TTFs. Is that something I should do? Honestly this is the first I've heard about it rendering differently. I hate that the decision was made to use the same file extension for two separate filetypes! TTF still makes me think TrueType, even though OpenType support has been added.

I find this merely a small inconvenience, considering how much you provide. Thank you for all your amazing uploads and especially their presentation. If you can be more specific about the errors i can switch to a different compression tool. I think i have WinZip for Mac, which may yield better results.
Cause most OTF fonts have no OpenType features! I did not even know there were two types of TTF.
Kind of makes me want to go back and request such versions of some of your older uploads. With some fonts (specifically display fonts that are intended for use at larger sizes anyway) something like a little fuzziness on screen doesn't matter, but especially with anything monospaced or clean cut it makes the difference between usability and not. Again, thanks for all your uploads and efforts. Your work is highly appreciated!

You are welcome. And thank you for the informative reply and kind words. I will definitely leave off special chars like registration/trademarks, which don't mean much to us pirates anyhow. But I do like to include accents where ever necessary, to get a designers name right. I will install a virtual machine to preview OTFs and upload TTFs when necessary. I'd do it all the time, but you'd be surprised how time consuming editing and converting fonts can be.unless you know.then you wouldn’t be surprised. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when a professional foundry releases a font in one format only (for desktop use) it tends to be OTF, these days anyway.

Jeez, the things I miss. That explains so much, of course.
Winrar extraction works (with a bazillion warning beeps; error message is 'The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect.' ), and 7zip extraction works as well but it replaces a bunch of special characters in the file names. [For completeness I should maybe mention that some other programs also throw hissy fits every now and then over special characters in your file names (such as accented vocals, which look perfectly normal but apparently use different encoding).] Either way, it's no more than a slight nuisance when extracting. The files come out uncorrupted and that's what counts. I wish Mac icons worked on Windows the way you describe. It sounds like a sweet setup. (FYI, the icon files themselves are indeed extracted too but only as empty files, causing no real trouble.) I was actually just referring to how you package things up with everything useful like specimen sheets and associated documents, and how you put detailed descriptions and previews on the download pages.

I tend to trust they know what they're doing. And since you say that you read font descriptions and such you'll know that certain families, or subfamilies, are specifically optimised for different uses, theres a whole science of the optics that determine the legibility of fonts at small sizes.
Everyday, thousands of users upload zip files to KAT, what are they using that I need to be? You mentioned my attention to detail and presentation. I often add icons to folders and documents, which I realise may not show up on some systems, however I hope this isn't causing an issue.

I just noticed in this case because I'd planned to use this font at smaller sizes and it seemed perfect based on the site information. (And it is now, with this version.) In general, your uploads are a little iffy on Windows because the archives give trouble when extracting. However, they can be extracted, if with a ton of error messages along the way each time.
